Reflection on ICT as a communicative tool

ICT as a communicative tool play a pivotal role in the teaching and learning much like daily communication. Since I am a student, I just utilize Telegram and Moodle for academic work with friends and mentors and most importantly, accessing study materials. While I have used other communication interfaces like WhatsApp and Messenger occasionally, but due to the nature of Telegram and Moodle, I am a frequent user of the app and Virtual Learning Environment.   The aspect that surprised me the most was the app's ability to accommodate extensive group chats and sharing files of different types and sizes effortlessly. I remember being part of more than 10 groups created for our course where we exchange notes, reminders and updates. The cloud-based storage allowed me to access shared files anytime without downloading everything. The channel feature was useful for receiving organized content from teachers without unnecessary conversations. I really appreciate the edit and the delete o...

The Differences between BCC and CC of Email

Email is a popular method of communication in a variety of professional environments so it's important to understand how to use the medium correctly at work. Most emails include various recipient fields, such a s CC and BCC. Carbon copy (CC) is an email field that allows someone to send several copies of the same email to multiple people or email inboxes.  BCC is an abbreviation that stands for blind carbon copy. It sends exact copies of the email to multiple recipients without allowing the recipients to see how many other people received the email. The differences between CC and BCC are: CC Everyone who receives the email can see all CC’s addresses . Use CC when you want to keep someone in the loop, and it’s okay for others to know they received the email.  Example: Sending a meeting invite to our club members and CC'ing to our Dean of Students Affairs. BCC No one (except the sender) can see who was BCC’d . It’s hidden from all recipients. Use BCC when you want ...

Reflection on ICT as an Informative Tool

Before attending the session on ICT as an Informative tool, I envisioned informative tools as being more traditional resources like books and notes. However, I now understood that informative tools are much broader and more advanced than I thought. They not only find use in providing facts but also to stimulate questions, analytical thinking and better understanding of the material. For instance, I have been using YouTube and Resources on Internet, an informative tool in my studies. It has become one of my go-to platforms whenever I had difficulty understanding a concept properly and need quick explanations or help during revision. The video content helped me understand concepts that were hard to grasp through textbook alone. This educational channel and resources explains the concept in simple language with visuals, making learning engaging and clear. I could pause, rewind, and rewatch as needed. In addition also download and refer the notes whenever I wanted which supported my pers...
