  Introduction

Gelephu Mindfulness City is our country's visionary project envisioned by His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk. It integrates mindfulness, Sustainability and Economic Growth. It is a Special Administrative Region (SAR)  which focuses on innovation, green energy and culture. It aims to balance modern development with Bhutanese Values so it is a good blend of modernization with Bhutanese beliefs and ethics.

 Diamond Strategy:

The diamond strategy will be the Policy strategy adopted by GMC for implementation of the policy and rules. It literally means " One Country, Two System" But this two system won't be maintained forever, ultimately converging into " One Country, One System," just like a diamond. However, the Convergence will be Possible only if there is parallel reforms going hands in hand throughout the country whereby democracy is strengthened, alignment of bureaucracy with the future need, improving laws and reforming the education system to empower our people as stated by His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk during 117th National Day.

 Economic Impact
Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) expects to diversify the Bhutanese economy from tourism and hydropower to foreign direct investment (FDI) with business-friendly policies. GMC will create jobs of thousands in finance, technology, and wellness industries. GMC will accommodate 150,000 inhabitants in its first ten years, with a potential to go to 1 million.

Environmental Impact

Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is crafted based on the "Building with Nature" vision of Bhutan, fully operated by renewable sources of energy and a carbon-zero city. Biodiversity preservation is its main concern through implementing green urban design and climate adaptability with green infrastructure.

Social & Cultural Impact

Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) promotes mindfulness-based city living while promoting education, healthcare, and social services. GMC preserves Bhutanese heritage and Buddhist spirit, aiming to be a universal model for urban development with a focus on happiness.

Technological & Innovation Impact

Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) introduces 'TER', a blockchain-secured digital currency, to drive fintech, AI, and green tech startups. It designs smart city infrastructure, including next-generation transport and logistics, and establishes Gelephu International Airport as a regional airport.

Geopolitical & Regional Influence

Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is geographically located at the crossroads of South Asia and Southeast Asia, thus strengthening Bhutan's regional economic footprint. It incorporates international partnerships in technology and sustainability and increases diplomatic and economic relations with the neighboring countries.

Conclusion

Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is a futuristic vision for Bhutan, where economic growth is supported by sustainability and mindfulness. And as a future citizen of Bhutan, we must join our hands together to fulfill the vision of GMC as it will have a long term positive impact on Bhutan.

Reflection on ICT as an Informative Tool

Before attending the session on ICT as an Informative tool, I envisioned informative tools as being more traditional resources like books and notes. However, I now understood that informative tools are much broader and more advanced than I thought. They not only find use in providing facts but also to stimulate questions, analytical thinking and better understanding of the material. For instance, I have been using YouTube and Resources on Internet, an informative tool in my studies. It has become one of my go-to platforms whenever I had difficulty understanding a concept properly and need quick explanations or help during revision. The video content helped me understand concepts that were hard to grasp through textbook alone. This educational channel and resources explains the concept in simple language with visuals, making learning engaging and clear. I could pause, rewind, and rewatch as needed.
